I dont like americans who go to europe and apolo for how Americans are and reinforce every stereotype europeans have about the US and american people..it's really pathetic to be honest, the only thing you should do is be the best person you can be and hope they will be intelligent enough to think 'hey, maybe americans arent like how i thought they all were, they're individuals and some are pretty dang smart' not go around saying 'hey im american but im not like all THOSE other americans, theyre so ignorant and stupid, im not like them, im with you guys'..i find that pathetic and there are many americans like this who travel to europe.

frankly, I'd say For over a year now, I have been planning to attendant The Swedish Institute of Massage therapy, and acting on my dream of becoming a licensed massage therapist, and opening up my own spa. This dream has slowly cultivated it's self ever since I was a child, fully realizing this was my path a few years ago. Some of the reasons are as follows. I am a physical person, and any the career for me will be one of physical work. I believe that is it noble work to help people feel better, and because it's my purpose. Long ago I knew that the right career path for me was one that utilized my mind and body. Typing on a computer and talking on the phone have been the only way I have been 'utilizing my body' in my current career, leaving me unfulfilled. A healthy life and career is one that is challenging mentally and physiy; one that utilizes the cerebral and the palpable One of the factors leading me to massage therapy is my belief it it being a noble profession. At its most basic, it is helping people feel better. At its most advanced, it is healing, physiy and mentally. It is the hard science of the most basic healing remedy of them all, touch. This is noble. The most important reason for me choosing massage therapy for my career, is that it seams to have chosen me. I am not sure how one backs up, supports, or defends their purpose on paper. I believe though that we are all born with a purpose, a path laid out before us. I have been searching for mine for many years now. Though hard to describe, we know without a doubt when our purpose is discovered. I know, without a doubt, that massage therapy is my purpose. Work that unitizes both my mind and body, that is noble, and most importantly, that follows my purpose in life. This is why I am pursuing a career in massage therapy. Through much research, I have concluded that The Swedish Institute offers the best tools for me to realize my dream of becoming a Massage Therapist, and opening up my own spa.

as an American who spends quite a bit of time in various part of Europe, I can say that 99% of the people who are afforded the ability to travel outside of America are total, complete, absolute cretins. Their perception of Americans is quite correct.

all i know is I'm a respectful person and all my family and friends are(save a couple)...I just don't know ANYONE who fits the ugly american stereotype

most people who travel overseas are wanna-be wealthy and not really wealthy. and nouveau-riche folks are usually distasteful no matter where they are from or where they are. we, all, export the worst examples of our respective cultures.

tipping is not requisite/customary in the UK they pay their service people a reasonable wage. if you're in a pub and want to thank your bartender/server, put one in the wood for them (but them a drink).

so are the British and Germans Germans swarming over Italy disgusts the Italians a bit because they drink beer and run around on the beach naked. And even without the beer, because of Frei Koerpur Kulture (free body culture), they like to run around naked ... and pee on the beach. Italy made laws against beer (not wine) on the beach for that reason. And Brits on holiday think they can do what they want in Greece or elsewhere.

Before you go kissing all that european ass ask people who live in former colonies of European countries what they think of the Europeans. Most of these people love America. Even Vietnam.

I'm american and I never give a shit what Europeans think about America, honestly. I know Europeans are jealous of American influence in the world if nothing else. If they had the same degree of influence they would be doing the same stuff or much worse when it comes to trade and military activity.

It's simple math... look at the size of the U.S. navy? Larger than the combined fleets of the next x or so countries. Look at size of gross domestic product. Same kind of numbers. If you aren't jealous you're a fool. of course your leaders and those with any sense are jealous. That doesn't mean you want to be just like us. And we don't want to be just like you.

We have to bail other countries out so much, it's understandable. LOL

And I find it funny that you spend so much energy telling Americans they're arrogant. Nobody gives a shit.
