I married a Brit and he is the best, best, best in every way. I would not trade him for a legion of any other men. Before marriage, I preferred to date European and Canadian men because overall they were more intelligent, thoughtful, sensitive and less macho and less misogynistic and less football and war-mongering than American men. And they knew how to treat a woman and how to dress, this while American men wore the gangster look, baggy pants around their ankles and baseball caps turned backwards. Something about American men remains unattractively perpetually adolescent, while most other men are fine stepping into adulthood. One of my cousins married a German man and is very happy with all aspects of him. What matters is far less the nationality than the individual. Don't pick your men based on some tabloid survey ---- instead look at the individual you are with and see what he does for you. Really, there are a lot of fabulous English guys around: think David Beckham, Paul McCartney, Colin Firth, Ewan McGregor, Clive Owen, Jason Stewart. Compare the Americans: drunkard Charlie Sheen, dog killer Michael Vick, manwhore Elwood "Tiger" Woods, and various rightwing nuts. Again, individuality rules over nationality.
