thats not the question. also the US is in a very vulnerable position right now, we wouldnt want to encourage the wealthy to head for greener pastures. maybe a bit higher but not too high. now the bankers who helped create this economic crisis, many of them should have their wealth x% confiscated, they are crooks.

Get them the fuck out of hear and we can rationally restructure a whole host of things to become: more energy independent, healthier, cleaner and greener, more productive, better educated, less violent, etc etc.

What productivity do they add, exactly? I'm all for the entrepreneur getting rich, but that is pretty much a tiny sliver of the wealthy. Most of the ultra wealthy with serious clout are from wealthy family dynasties. Or they are the CEOs of massive corporations. These people add NOTHING to our national productivity. Nothing. What fucking use is some health insurance executive who makes $x million in stock options by denying care to people? NONE.

i think the real problem with the US is that the real cost of living keeps going up while how much people earn stays the same or goes backwards. It's really fucked up when someone who has $x+ million in the bank whines about paying his employees more than $x/hour or providing any benefits. OTOH, our culture has taught a lot of people to think that it's fair not to share a nice chunk of profits with the employees who actually do all the work to make you rich. I'm not for taxing rich people more. a flat sales tax that is the same across the board for everyone would work for me. x% tax (for example) on a million dollar yacht is a nice chunk of change and perfectly fair if everybody else is paying x% on what they buy.

no, because people who say 'welfare programs' only mean welfare for homeless people who actually need it. They don't mean the welfare multi-billion dollar corporations get from the government. Plus the government wastes too much money. They already have enough money to do whatever they want but choose not to.

probably not. i think people miss the point when they focus on taxing instead of creating wealth. When americans create new things we create wealth for ourselves. Now people are shocked that after inventing the Internet and not really adding much to it for x years, xnd world countries are getting a lot of the loot and putting americans out of work. Sit on your ass for x years without making real significant new things and that's what happens. Same with automobiles. The greediest people in america don't create new things. It will be even harder in the future when the xnd world countries figure out how to keep their smartest and brightest from migrating to the U.S.
